The Mystic Dance - 1986, Monotype, 50 x 59 cm

Psalm 100 says: "Serve the Lord with joy. Come before Him with exalting." Life should be loved and enjoyed - a beautiful and happy experience to be tasted and coveted and not feared. By dancing and singing every human can rise above his/her physical limitations and experience the G-dliness of his/herself. In dancing the entire body is seen to express religious joy and becomes subservient to the ecstatic soul and is thus employed as one means of achieving devekut - communion with G-d.
