WANDS.

Wands cards represent enterprise and distinction and have a creative and ruling function.

Moses 1 Moses 1 - 2009 Mixed Media on Paper, actual size excluding border, 7.5 cm X 12.5 cm

Ace of Wands

Moses was about three months when his mother wove a small basket and laid her infant son in it and placed it among the reeds that grew along the Nile. The daughter of Pharaoh found him and rescued him.

Divination: This card symbolizes a preliminary outburst of raw inspirational energy. The new brainchild has not yet been devised, but there is an intense feeling of impatience and deep sense that there is a big project waiting to be tackled. The Ace of Wands entails the start of an exciting voyage into the universe of foresight and imagination, where there are no longer tangible or non-tangible restrictions and life takes on an altogether new meaning.

Moses2 Moses 2 - 2009 Mixed Media on Paper, actual size excluding border, 7.5 cm X 12.5 cm.

Two of Wands

Moses is a handsome young man and in outward manner and appearance he seemed an Egyptian nobleman. One day he was passing by a construction site and saw an Egyptian overseer brutally beating an exhausted Hebrew slave with a leather whip. Infuriated by such cruelty, Moses beat the Egyptian to death, buried the body and hurried away.

Divination: The agitation and power that had not yet been conceived of in the Ace, is now slowly forming into a concrete plan. Therefore, one needs to fulfil one's vision that before existed only in the mind's eye and bring it down into the physical world.

Moses3 Moses 3 - 2009 Mixed Media on Paper, actual size excluding border, 7.5 cm X 12.5 cm.

Three of Wands

Moses escaped from Egypt and went to live in the land of Midian and met Zipporah who became his wife and bore him two sons. Moses lived with the Midianites for several years and Jethro, Zipporah's father taught him how to care for the flocks and sent him on journeys to find pastureland.

Divinination: This card symbolizes a phase of early achievement and therefore a reason for festivity as everything seems to be going along according to plan. In fact one is convinced that there must be divine intercession, as it all seems so easy. However, one must be reminded that these are early days and there is still hard work ahead as there is with all undertakings.

Moses4 Moses 4 - 2009 Mixed Media on Paper, actual size excluding border, 7.5 cm X 12.5 cm.

Four of Wands

Moses came to Mount Horeb and the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked and the bush was burning; yet it was not consumed. And G-d called to him out of the bush, "Moses, Moses! I am the G-d of your father, the G-d of Abraham, the G-d of Isaac, and the G-d of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at G-d.

Divination: This is a card of gratuity and reward. Again, there is something to celebrate but here there is something more concrete worth rejoicing in. However, the journey is still in its initial stages and there is still hard work ahead.

Moses5 Moses 5 - 2009 Mixed Media on Paper, actual size excluding border, 7.5 cm X 12.5 cm.

Five of Wands

G-d sent Moses to Pharaoh so that he may lead forth His people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt. Aaron and Moses bowed low before the Pharaoh. Pharaoh said to Moses and Aaron: "Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go.

Divination: This card symbolizes that a great effort is taking place. This is a case of how idealism or the creative vision collides with material reality. One has to have the strength to sustain one's vision so as to carry one's project through to finality without anyone or anything getting in the way.
